January 12th, 2011

Another day for me spent in front of the computer watching the destruction and mayhem up in Queensland. I have cried many tears over some of the stories that I have heard and pictures that have emerged. You really do feel so helpless. I just hope it all ends soon so people can start the recovery process. I also want to invite anyone who is thinking about a vacation in 2011 to please consider doing so in Brisbane and surrounds in a few months. These people have lost everything; some even their lives. They are going to need all the revenue they can get.

Surprisingly enough, this morning didn't start as hectic as normal. Most of the time I end up leaping out of bed to prevent some catastrophe that one of my spawn has created. Today I actually had time to chuck some pants on before I meandered out into the kitchen.  I think it was partly because it was daycare day and yes I was bloody excited at the thought of only having 2 children to care for! Sarah and Hayley normally get on quite well. Of course they both know how to push each others buttons and someone takes it that little bit too far and before you know it doors are being slammed and childish obscenities are being tossed around like last Tuesday's salad. It was one of those normal days today LOL

Harry Potter series has been restarted (yah that is gonna get old verrry quickly!!) They spent the majority of the afternoon playing with worms in the back yard. Hayley would even bring a couple in to show me occasionally. Lucky me!!

I am gathering that something is going on at the preschool in regards to the floods. Dale and Jenna were all abuzz when they were driving in the car. Apparently they have to give things because some people have nothing, no toys or food or kitchen tables (said Dale) then Jenna pipes up "people were sitting down to eat their dinner and the water came in their house and their table floated away with all their food mum. I was so near tears hearing that.  They were so excited to see their big sisters when they got home. Caity also kept asking me for "Cuggles" which melts my heart. She can be such a temperamental loving creature. They finally saw her dark side at preschool too. Her teacher said to me when I walked in "So Caitlin spent most of the day trying to take her clothes off" Yah. Im thinking. She gets that from me hehe.

She looks like shes been on a big bender and passed out. Watching Harry Potter while eating Jatz does that to a girl! hehe

I also spent nearly 2 hours clearing a back log of dishes that I hadn't washed. Gross; yes I know. I detest washing dishes. I get all hot and humid, wet and sticky and it just makes me feel totally yuck. So I leave it until the cupboards and drawers are bare. With 7 people, 3 meals plus snacks a day, it doesn't take long to get to that point lol. Anyway, because I had a nice clean kitchen I thought I would grab some KFC for dinner. It turned into the hugest nightmare. First they made me wait 10 minutes for chicken. So I went to Woolworths and bought some chocolate, as one does when they are waiting for fatty chicken pieces. Then when I got back it and they had packaged my chicken and chips they told me there was a 4 minute wait for 3 of the nuggets... umm hello you just made me wait 10 minutes~! So he offered me 2 crispy stripes in exchange for 3 nuggets. I said why not 3 and they said sorry price difference. Then the shift manager comes over and offers me a piece of chicken instead so I said fine whatever, I just want to go. As she walked past him she whispers loudly to him " just give her a thigh piece"  And im fuming.  By the time the guy is getting my Pepsi out of the fridge she calls out "the nuggets are up in 20 seconds if you want to wait. So I said fine! And as I grab my bag the guy says you just scored a free piece of chicken for waiting so long.  Im like whatever dickhead under my breath and walked out... So I get home, tell Paul what happened and start divvying up to all my starving children when I notice that not only did he not put my extra piece of chicken in but he also LEFT ONE OUT! So I am livid at this point. Paul rings them up, threatens to go to head office with this and suddenly we are offered 15 pieces free next time we go in. So yah. That was my day.
I love how the bag is nearly as tall as Caitlin. She refuses to let me carry it!!
